In the
past year, the Roy Administration has:
- ignored the recommendations
of the Nautical Consultative Committee..
- submitted a request for
restrictions on navigation despite
overwhelming opposition at the public
meeting of August 25.
- excluded the business
community from participating in the
newly-formed Environmental Advisory
Committee.
- refused a request for access
to documents related to the nautical
survey, forcing a formal hearing, despite
an unfavourable opinion from its own
lawyers.

The councillor responsible for the
environment made this "observation" while on
his own pontoon boat, with his old 2-stroke motor... |

The 4 largest associations of the 5
on the consultative committee supported propositions
concerning access to the lakes that were not adopted. The
Code of Ethics supported by the committee is not the one
presented to municipal council. The members of
the municipal council were not informed of the
recommendations of the committee before the adoption of
the by-law, which was confirmed by 3 council
members at the meeting of May 19. |

In the summer of 2003, vacationers
of 7 days or more had access to the municipal launch
areas. The minimum of 30 days was put into effect for the
summer of 2004. |

consultation, on March 5, 2006, at which Nicolas
Pellemans made the presentation on behalf of the Water
Sports Association. |

citizens on most of the requests for boating restrictions
